LET THE GHEE FLOW
Saturday, February 21st, 2026 Govardhan Eco Village, India Faithfully, I have been making my way to the ayurvedic clinic and today was my last day for the snehapanam, intaking ghee with salt. Dr. Rahul is my medicine consultant, who makes regular visits to the ashram to check on me. I told him that I’m on a full day fast and that I’m not really hungry, although admittedly, the image of a wholesome veggie burger flashed through my mind. Overall, I’ve been doing relatively we

MOVING ALONG WITH THE CLEANSE
Friday, February 20th, 2026 Govardhan Eco Village, India I cross paths with Madan Mohan from Russia who is on the same cleanse routine as myself. He is apparently two or three days ahead of me in the procedure. He is always Krishna conscious, but his body appears weak. That’s the state I am at. The energy is low for both of us. We share our emotions. And it’s easy. We are right next door to each other. We share the same massage therapists who notice that a patient with a Russ

HIBERNATING DAY
Thursday, February 19th, 2026 Govardhan Eco Village, India Gauranga Pran, my assistant from Pune, and I took to the ambient trails of the Eco Village complex and timed ourselves to meet my target for an 8 AM appointment at the Ayurveda clinic. The procedure for today was the next step in detoxification. Traditionally, the single procedure is called internal snehana , or as they say in the south of India, snehapanam , where the patient consumes pure ghee . So, that’s what I

HAPPY STAY ON THIS DAY
Wednesday, February 18th, 2026 Maharastra, India In the room where I stay in the Bhajan Ashram , I had a box of a stash of snacks, not necessarily the unhealthy kind. The very generous doctor from Ujjain who left today with his family gave this gift for when I need it. But this poses a problem of sorts. With the very regimented diet that I’m on during treatment, I’m not to even look at these delectables. This has been day number two for treatment which has, to this point, inv

FINISHING IN GUYANA
Monday, January 26th, 2026 Georgetown/Toronto I enjoyed my stay in Guyana, particularly in Georgetown where I maximized my stay. When oil comes into the country, or rather, is discovered, operations really do take off. For Guyana it’s new roads, housing developments, casinos, shopping malls, and of course, faster cars and more of them. I exited the country in many areas of older residences, there is so little scope for durable sidewalks and walkways. Pedestrians are truly at

BRIDGES
Sunday, January 25th, 2026 Crane, Guyana Today was day 2 for allowing pedestrians to walk over the New Demerara Bridge over the river with the same name. The Demerara is quite wide. I used to walk the old floating bridge which is now replaced for a state-of-the-art new rendition built by the Chinese. I love the sensation, the views, and the breezes that are authentic features. A dozen of us went for the thrill. Total duration was fifty minutes of walking on this 2.7 km/1.7 mi
