NOVEMBER FIRST FUN
Saturday, November 1st, 2025 Barrie, Ontario I was really happy with the program at a rental facility at a United Church in downtown Barrie. The community here meets regularly and is attempting to step up to make it weekly gatherings. The chanting was sweet. The guests, mostly young families and international students, enjoyed the dancing. They are motivated on their own to move; in the beginning they’re a little bit stiff, but they gradually loosen up. I spoke from 9.

NIGHT OF ACTIVITY
Friday, October 31st, 2025 Brickworks, Toronto Some of our Bhakti Academy members decided to go downtown at Dundas Square anticipating that the location was rowdy and happy. Being that the 31 st is Halloween night, many people would be there in costume (maybe a little tipsy), so our group got all dressed up after getting into our drama costume room with makeup before heading to the Square armed with drum and musical instruments for chanting. Well, that went over very we

TIME FOR A GOOD SCARE
Thursday, October 30th, 2025 Dundas Square, Toronto It was ten years ago that I began my US walk starting from Boston in New England. By the time I reached Middle Atlantic in Pennsylvania, it was Halloween time. Homeowners had really spruced up their properties with all kinds of ghoulish décor. I recall walking by a countryside home where the place was elaborately done up. A man from the UK travelling for business stopped to see the spectacle and remarked, “Boy, here

MEETING PEOPLE
Wednesday, October 29th, 2025 Queen's Park, Toronto I was at the street corner of Ave & Dav (Avenue Road and Davenport) with Harakumara, our treasurer, when an elderly gentleman hurriedly ran up to us and in a childlike excitement said, “I’m the one who rings the bell at the Church of the Redeemer. Do you ring the bell at your temple?” Both Harakumara and I didn’t expect that remark. He was enthusiastic. We didn’t have the time to explain that we don’t have a bell to ri

A MEANINGFUL TRAIL
Tuesday, October 28th, 2025 Taylor Creek Park, Ontario When you are a participant in devotional life, the guru comes to mind very regularly. There are the principles of vani and vapuh when it comes to guru . Vani refers to the message that such a teacher has left, and vapuh applies to the guru ’s physical presence. Of the two, vani and vapu , the message or instruction is more important and significant. We had the golden opportunity to give some attention to every

HAPPY GROWTH
Monday, October 27th, 2025 North York, Ontario There are signs that indicate we are growing. What I mean by that is we, as a society and culture, are expanding, at least in Canada and the southern-most part of the country, also in sections of the USA, India, Eastern Europe, and I’m sure there are other locations. This is glorious. Nityananda drove me to North York to meet some businessmen from our community to make an offer for a larger building in the eastern section
