Leo was kind enough to take me to the nation’s capital city, Ottawa, and that he did in careful speed. I struggled with sleep the night before but made up for the loss by slumber and his moving car. It was like magic. I stepped into his vehicle at 6:30 am and woke up 4 1/2 hours later, at our destination, Russell.
Those devotees gather each Sunday for spiritual nourishment at the Bhakta Prahlad Montessori School, a solid red brick building in the heart of town. I chose 8.9 from the Bhagavad-gita to speak from. It is a strong verse and very well defines what is God. He is a person, the oldest, the all-pervading, etc. I feel blessed that details such as contained in this text is there to clarify.
The kirtan that we commenced with us was very interactive; the Q and A after hearing the message and the very tasty prasadam always becomes an inclusive event like all Krishna Conscious centres around the world. It is a divine, three-pronged system.
More nourishment was yet to come. My good friend Suresvara, from Tucson, about to turn 80, is in town, presenting his series on “Prabhupada, the Founder Acharya.” Speaking of clarity, his rendition of this important topic, was well received by the Ottawa community for in the world of sadhus Prabhupada certainly stands out as an incredible sacrificial saint. The group was most attentive to the lesson by Suresvara.
Many people come to our centres, get introduced to mantra chanting, the philosophy, the food, yet the person who deserves the credit is often missed.
