GOODBYE GAJENDRA

Tuesday, August 4th, 2026

Huntsville, Toronto

The following poem is in honour of recently deceased Gajendra from Toronto.

GOOD-BYE GAJENDRA

Gajendra, you did it well

Held to His lotus feet

Rejecting maya’s spell

T’was a major defeat

Chaitanya devi, you’re not at a loss

You gain in memory

The ocean you must cross

With bhakti as remedy

Perhaps philosophy does nothing

At this moment of emotion

We say, “We are not this body” – it’s only bluffing

We are sustained in devotion

Gajendra was that gentle soul

Leaving an exemplar trail

Came from a place where they say, “Haribol!”

The body is a jail

It all may appear as a vacuum

That space we can now fill

Do it like a handloom

Complete in colour, texture, and feel

Material life has shortcomings

But we can leave that behind

Let Krishna be forthcoming

Be good to yourself, be kind

– By Bhaktimarga Swami
