Mayapura, West Bengal, India
My personal assistant, Suta Goswami, is quite the community developer, or I mean to say, preacher. He will go to a village in Bengal and start up an amazing Krishna conscious community; not only that, but he will keep the group happy by maintaining them. This morning, as it was yesterday, he Zoomed me in to share my message with the villagers – a message of good will to prioritize one’s spiritual development in the unity of others.
It seems to me that wherever you go in the world with a sincere heart and do Krishna’s work, there’s going to be some reciprocation. As said by a friend, “Where attention goes, energy flows.”
I don’t know that it’s an appropriate parallel, but here’s what our little thespian group did after a successful half-hour chanting session at the Kirtan Mela:
We decided to go for lunch at Govinda’s Restaurant on the campus. We had a menu in hand and asked the waiter for a Chinese meal.
“We don’t have!”
We asked the same for Italian, Thai, and so on. The answer was the same. We were disappointed, but we didn’t give up.
“Can you please just give us what you do have?”
Down to the last wire was chapati bread, lemon rice, and alu gobi (spiced cauliflower potato). We were determined to stay and try what was there. We had no regrets. It was the tastiest food ever. It appeared we were rewarded for the steadfastness.
I also need to report that it was our last performance of Witness Gopal in Mayapura. We packed the place in the auditorium and received that well-deserved standing ovation for the crew that put their everything forward.
MAY THE SOURCE BE WITH YOU!
