My dental assistant I see every six months is a great conversationalist. She succeeded in keeping me alert throughout the cleaning operation of my teeth. I managed to get in a few words despite the water spout I had stuck in my mouth. My responses were more like a cave man’s grunts and growls. Oh, but it was fun to hear her strong opinions about Mr. Trump, the war in Iran and other matters. The main thing is that the dental cleaning went very well. And when Dr. Patel, the dentist on site, came by to double check the job done and my overall health, it was nice to hear that he went through my entire book, “The Saffron Path”, as a bedtime story for his son. I was quite elated.
Nityananda was kind to take me to the dentist then to a park where I conducted a Gita Chat zoom call with South Africa and Europe, then to a costume place in preparation for the Shiva/Sati play, to York University for meeting a script writer and finally to a funeral home to honour an elderly lady, Laksmi Ratnam from Sri Lanka.
The day was full for a type of all around cleanse. And that’s what monks, clergy, priests do. They are fixed on self purification by cleansing others in one shape or form. It is standard practice to go around and touch people’s lives even if it means addressing the topic of death, such as at a crematorium facility. When we encouraged people who came for the viewing of Laksmi Ratnam to chant “Hare Krishna...” the atmosphere became so surcharged with peace over the emotional outbursts of feeling loss and separation.
