A special day it is as usual in Krishna's service, but today's very special! We are looking at the anniversary of the Bhagavad-gita being spoken. The mind is clear, as it should be, on this day of clarity.
There was an urge to get out of the heat-infested inside, so myself and a half dozen members of Bhakti Academy headed for the park which we call 'Ram's Den' to get some fresh air. We met my artist friend who is expert at line drawing portraits. He did mine some years ago. He's good.
"How are the knees?" he asked, knowing I had surgery on each of them. With age, he's getting by with a walker device. He's lucky the sidewalks are as smooth as can be. I'm always happy to see him. He's the guy with a signature hat.
It was my day for visiting persons. Back in the temple someone was desperate to see me.
"How can I overcome my lack of confidence?" was his question. I'll admit he was looking quite run down and needing some advice, a friend. I offered him a copy of the Gita explaining that the contents veer us away from the bodily consciousness and towards the spirit. He happily accepted.
"Seek good company. The temple is actually a good place to come to."
Now that is true, however, there was some disturbance just after a meaningful reading of the Gita. It was marvellous going through its recitation. Just as we completed the last verse, 18.78, an upstart fellow raised a ruckus. I hate to say it, but the young man acted like he had rabies. It called for a visit from the police and the ambulance. Friend, Krishnadas, got hurt. The kerfuffle didn't disturb young Lucas. He is enjoying everything about Krishna.
