Burnaby, British Columbia

I was on FLT 185 Air Canada for five hours enroute to Vancouver. I dozed a bit. I didn't have the power to read. I had already written for my blog and completed my prescribed number of rounds on the japa beads. There was just enough strength to watch Mr. Bean on a holiday. I had no ear plugs. It wasn't necessary. You can watch him and his antics and get totally humoured.

I must say though, that if I'm not humoured about something, I'm at least contemplative about something, for instance how to improve my services to guru and God. I couldn't help recalling how on the bulletin board in the church where our Waterloo devotees conduct weekly gatherings, I saw a promotion for voting for democracy. It is of concern. I believe it is a big thing on people's minds. When we see some of the unilateral decisions made by worldly leaders are autocratic moves, it is disturbing. At the moment we are enjoying many liberties including the exercising of our freedom to practice bhakti.

Will we be able to enjoy that privilege for many years ahead of us?

I can say fairly that I am enjoying my time in Burnaby, a suburb of Vancouver. I was at liberty to choose the verse to speak from at the Sunday program (B.G. 10.25). It was a continuation of the theme — opulences or attributes of God. We have entered the month of Kartik, an extremely joyful time where we endorse the concept that Krishna is captured by love in the form of Damodara.
