I’M 73

Today I’m 73

What does it mean to me?

Another day –

What then to others?

People are sending messages

All kinds of kindness

They are – every day – kind to me

And I feel unworthy

Many gifts are coming

I have at least one to offer

To those well wishers

It is a drama revealing the very special

Narration of Krishna

Which unpacks the real strength of a person

Urging the individual to forge ahead

With no detour, straight ahead

On dharma’s path

Everything starts from that trail

The one of duty and obligation

Love/prema will come of its own accord

It requires time, our best friend

That is what birthdays are

Time measurements

Of patience until we get there

I admit I’m not ready for that

I’ll stay here for a while

I like what I do

I want to keep serving him

Our guru – Prabhupada

We know he’s not God

But is the greatest I’ve got

At his lotus feet

What fortune! What privilege!
