GOPAN, HE'S GONE

Thursday, April 16th 2026

Huntsville, Ontario

Marvellous moments of today include:

  1. Walking by yellow bushes.

  2. Meeting Rob in Huntsville. He was under influence.

  3. Thought of friend, Gopan, recently passed away.

  4. Write a poem about him, full spiritual name, Gopan Ganapati.

GOPAN, HE'S GONE

Gopan is someone to remember

He had come to the point of surrender

Raised in Ottawa, moved to Toronto

And fell in prostrations like a domino

He saw something in the movement

Opportunity for self-improvement

On Prabhupada he relied

A master who could guide

Devotees ran a lucrative business

Producing essence, oils, incense.

He travelled the country to deliver

Crossing every mountain and river

He also did temple treasury service

Though funds were not like that of Mirvish

But he did the best he could

At a desk and chair of wood

When the deities did arrive

He broke open the box, they became alive

He then began to cleanse them

Le garçon et la femme

When he lived in a pioneer home

He opened the door to those he’d known

Gopan was helpful in many ways

To Godhead – and we hope for no delays
