FOR ONE'S WELLNESS

Bloor St., Toronto

My street friend from up the street on Roxborough, with his trusty dog, turned a corner and there we met. It was still dark, early, 6:30 AM. Routinely he goes for that walk through Ramsden Park with the additional aid of his walker. Yes, he’s getting older, and appears more slowed down than the time before. Naturally we talk about these squeaky old bodies. We never go deeper to discuss jiva, soul, but we are neighbours, and hence, we are friends. He once did a portrait, a sketch. Nice job done.

For midday I went on duty to Life Labs on Bloor for my regular check up. The medical. Blood, cardio, urine, and stool samples are the components of such a check up. It is a rather necessary ordeal as one ages and is being responsible.

My family doctor watches over me with a caring concern. It is good to have that element in one’s life. Medical people, after all, are there for that reason.

For my own physical upkeep, I see to it to get these steps in for the day. A cold rain and hints of snow came down at walk number three for the day.  That didn’t stop us from duty. Uddhav, Karuna, Neena, and I went for the immunity buildup. It is also the time for putting in some extra rounds of the maha mantra, while walking.

Why not?
