FOLLOW THE GREAT

when someone demonstrates steadiness

recognizing worldly pettiness

he plies through life with ease

because he actually sees

some go for false embrace-and-cuddle

form clouds of confusion that muddle

the righteous avoid, dart for clarity

by way of the practice of austerity

they relish a regular fast

rarely live in the past

dodge the passion of the future

operate timely like a rooster

the present is their place to be

they may go to hug that tree

aware of three energies – gunas

and keep company with goodness

when one is judgmental

one’s thoughts are not central

do less on the flesh, more on the soul

more on the service, less on the scroll

distractions are a horn of plenty

and take us from our identity

so establish a progressive agenda

that’s where to give attention

desires get so intertwined

it’s like following the blind

rather lead and guide them

otherwise, expect mayhem

reach all, respect all, love all

avoid the unnecessary brawl

and there’s no time to wait

follow what is done by the great
