Montreal/Toronto
Well, I left our Montreal ISKCON temple, and with the kindness of Tulasi Seva, the kitchen queen there, I was given the marvellous mini veggie burgers for the train that she packed for me. For a six-hour journey, something slightly more than a snack comes in handy. Apart from trekking, I don’t mind tracking on VIA Rail.
At noon, I participated in a Zoom call while on the rickety train tracks to discuss this year’s MAN-tra retreat to be held in the Appalachia Mountains in New Vrindavan, West Virginia. This is always an exciting event for me. Each year it becomes more and more stimulating with well thought out presentations on what it means to be a ‘responsible, conscious male.’ When I use the word ‘conscious’ here, I am referring to a person attentive to biological and spiritual details. This year’s event is held from September 29th – October 1st.
I arrived at my base in Toronto to partake in the engagement of our chef extraordinaire, Dwarkanath. There was a beautiful ring exchange between his now confirmed fiancé, Mandira, and himself. I know dear Dwarkanath for not only his tasty tummy yummy food (which becomes transformed as prasad), but for being overall such a competent man. He’s an incredible musician, vocalist, sitarist. He’s non-political, non-critical, and just a supportive and pleasant person. He’s strong bodied and strong willed.
A good example.
You can talk till you are blue in the face about devotion in regards to rules, but he has got down human qualities not to perfection (that would be reserved for Bhagavan or God), but certainly rates up there in my books.I feel good just complimenting him.
