WRAP UP

Wednesday, March 13th, 2024

Mayapura, West Bengal

Today is the wrap up day. Dhoti material was given as a gift from Jayapataka Swami. He is always generous with his care packages that he offers to all the leaders. These previous items include not only good cotton material but, Narasingha oil, jaggery, saffron threads and a few more goodies.

A copy of the Maha mantra in Bengali by luminaire Bhaktivinode Thakur.

My assistant from Kolkata, Suta Goswami, just overflows with bhakti devotion. He got the material stitched into a regular swami's robes. Then he proceeded to dye it in the standard colour. Also, as part of winding up for the next destination, he helped me to re-pack the books. "The Saffron Path" sold well due to the fact that the author is there to sign the copy upon purchases. This book is not a replacement to the holy Bhagavad-Gita, rather I see the publication as per intro to the Gita's wisdom. Therefore, we have brought a bunch since the public is always looking for new material.

Group efforts today included a visit to SMIS school, at a class for the graduating young men. I guess you could say my talk with them was motivational. And lastly, a young filmmaker, Visvananda, who resides in the Russian Para, hosted our drama troupe to his home for a presentation on his very own short film. It was comedic and an opportunity to laugh culturally at ourselves.

What a treat!

Pasta and cake followed. Some good food makes for a fine wrap up the night before. Oh! Krishna's so kind.
