Frank is 84 years of age, a reader and a man of the old school values. While embracing Buddhist values it was easy enough for him to accept his son, Ken Bowie, to become a Krishna Conscious person. Yes, today Ken made it official. He took diksha, or initiation. His karmic career—he is a chef by profession. His Sanskrit name now is Kirtan Lila. He and his dad like it.

His buddy, Kingkar, who hails from Bangladesh, is also interestingly, a professional chef. For Kingkar Krishna is not new to him. He was raised in the culture, he and his friends, immigrants, moved to Canada. His friends are plenty. They filled up the hall of our performance, at the Laksmi Narayan Mandir. To be fair, folks outside of his circle also came. Lots of children!

Kingkar also received diksha with the name kunjabihari referring to Krishna who enjoys sporting in the groves of Vrndavana. Kingkar, or rather Kunjabihari is a very chilled person, loves to study the books and is in contact on the bi-weekly Gita zoom classes.

I'm happy for the two chefs, who by the way cooked excellent pasta prasadam for the crowd that came to our performance. The dance, the kirtan, and also the snan or washing ceremony of Jagannatha was well appreciated by our audience. The drama? Well a lot of people didn't get the jokes with English not being their first language and fidgety kids to try to hold onto.

In any event, the sacred name of Krishna was heard from the stage presentation. Overall, the people were impressed by the youthful energy.
