TRUE INDOOR HAPPINESS

Sunday, April 19th 2026

Winnipeg, Manitoba

Spring in Winnipeg experiences thaw, frost, thaw, frost etc. Like a mantra where combination of words repeat themselves, the weather patterns are on a roll. This cycle makes for creative masterpieces in the puddles which become different levels of ice.

People do speak of Winnipeg as a nasty weather place in general with cold winters and hot summers. My response to such complaints or observations is, “The climate may not be mild but the sun is quite present. In general the weather with its fluctuations builds character for those exposed to it.”

The Sunday Love Feast attracts people to Iskcon Manitoba’s facility. Two devotees, a husband and wife, took diksha initiation. Asish took the name Achyuta Keshava with she, Priyanka accepted the name Priya Radhika. A third participant accepted second diksha. That is Meenakshi. Congratulations!

I am so much admiring the work of the couple Visvambhara and Maha Sundari. They have trained their people so well. After I spoke from the Gita (4.19) corresponding to the current date on the calendar, we explored what are the qualities of a pundit. At this session there was an explosive kirtan and coming from the genius of the divine couple mentioned above, individuals were generously rewarded for taking courses in the science of bhakti. Overall it was a great evening, full of smiles, voices singing, vigorous dancing, and serious listening. If spring not quite yet established outside - it certainly made its appearance inside.
