While on this day Americans are celebrating their Independence Day, those of us in the Canadian legion of ISKCON Montreal are joyfully occupied in our lord and master, Jagannath.

Yes, the Chariot Fest took off at the corner of Ste. Laurent and Sherbrooke as a procession and culminating in stage presentations with Bhaktivedanta Book Trust publications on display, a chanting tent, yoga, food, and bhakti accessories for sale.

Our dear monk from Mauritius was available for Q&A, Bhakti Sundara Chaitanya, let me know that the response was great. Of course, it is helpful when you have someone who is competent philosophically to address people's concerns and curiosity and can respond in French, English and Hindi.

My major attention went to the two dramatic productions for the day. “Big Fish, Little Fish” was the cast from the youth bus crew I was responsible for and “Gita Concise,” something I wrote, was directed by our Theatre Arts star from Toronto, Arina. Well done, both to both productions. What a treat!

I managed to capture one image of the fellow who played Arjuna in the “Concise” play. Aryan was reluctant to play the role initially, but I gave him a boost of encouragement. I thought he would have a good stage presence, and I included it in this blog.

Our guru, Prabhupada, had a real attraction for lilas, spiritual pastimes, in the form of dramas.
