SOMETIMES I FORGET

Cresthill, South Africa

I'm grateful for the fact that those who organize my trips, my stay, and my service in Chatworth, South Africa, arranged for me to speak and present at a yoga studio in a posh neighborhood in Cresthill. Christna, a big supporter of bhakti, uses her upstairs quarters as a yoga studio which is used as a monthly venue for devotees to chant. I was invited as the special guest this evening after a fairly full day of practice with drama.

Speaking of which, at a practice off time, I was hearing some hair-raising stories from individuals both locally and from a call abroad regarding challenges, each unique in their story. I tried to remind folks of gory stories to please do not stay in the past. “Live now!”  In the case of current catastrophe, “Dwell less in emotion and continue with devotion.”

The highest form of devotion is to engage in song and dance to the Absolute. That was my message at the Eagles View Studio. It's Saturday night, so let's party. The space was full of some regulars and new people, a combination using that full mind, body, and soul in Krishna’s kirtan, was the way we went, and after a good sweat, sat down to express. I spoke about the long walks I've done. I do sometimes forget how intriguing my personal past involving the walks is. We ended up with the Q&A. The questions ranged. How many kilometres a day? Did you see any UFOs? Would you walk South Africa? What's your favourite country for walking? To this last question in my answer is, “Wherever you are?”
