Montreal, Quebec

Walking in an industrial park area near an airport is not the most glamourous setting.  Yet the air is relatively clean and it’s quiet, so that’s what you want and that’s what I’m getting.

The venue for our AGM Annual General Meetings in Montreal is at the Radisson Hotel where 108 registered leaders from ISKCON meet, sleep, eat, and make friends.  Apart from one of those personal vertigo attacks in our banquet hall, all was quite pleasant during the time of our sessions which are excellently coordinated by our trusted Indresh Gaura and his team (my blood sugar level was low, and my family doctor was there to address it).

What did we talk about today?

An excellent presentation by Anuttama Jr. was executed on the reports of book distribution in Zone One of North America.  They are not ordinary books and are of a transcendent nature.  The sales are up this year.  There’s a steady climb with each passing year.

Also, we were hearing reports from more centres both new established.  My report or delivery was on the topic, “Conscious Kirtan” and the standards required to bring out the most essential techniques in the art of singing.  That was well received as the practice of kirtan and its effect on the heart are very meaningful in the lives of Krishna devotees.

Yes, all is good at these sessions.  The outdoors is good with that fresh fall air.  The indoors within the hotel is great, but not perfect.  As I write this blog right now in the hotel’s lobby, one of the tenants came to the desk asking for a plunger.
