Brampton, Ontario
This is Day #2 for space squeezing, only a different town and a different house. Our hosts today are Sanatan and Kamala, and I’m not kidding when I say we are tight for space in their Brampton semi-detached house. We always manage such cozy situations.
With Mahadev and Annapurna on guitar and harmonium, I took the lead on dance and voice. The crowd got up off their feet. We sang, snapped fingers, clapped and swayed, all in a happy stride.
When it came to the sit-down, I gave a message not alien to what is disseminated from the Gita. The direction is ‘surrender’. The method is ‘mantra’. And ‘cooperation’. That is the sublime word — ‘cooperation’, synonymous with ‘love’.
The person who drove us back to the temple/ashram was Munish, who proclaims his change in life is due to good association. He expressed that he had been into the meat and alcohol, and then he found something superior, a more conscious way of living, with Krishna at the centre. He and his wife confirm a new peace.
Incidentally, today I met Vasey, a former student whom I stayed with in Thunder Bay while organizing a thespian project with students at the Lakehead Campus. Now Vasey lives and works for the court system way up north in Nunavut. Talk about peacefulness, and clear air, Northern Lights, polar bears, and caribou. You have no trees, but visible sun and moon and all things of nature pristine. Hmmm! I think I’ll make it a future destination.
MAY THE SOURCE BE WITH YOU!
