Miami, Ft. Lauderdale

Meeting Kim was unique. At Ft. Lauderdale Airport she was sitting next to me and overheard some key words that came out of my conversation on the cell phone so she was curious.

'Are you on a retreat?" she asked. "Yes. I am. I just completed a blitz through Florida - Orlando, DeLand, Gainesville, Sarasota, Tampa, Miami. I've been teaching and leading chanting".

"You're with Krishna, aren't you?" "Yes, I knew someone who used to live with the family. I am Hindu and this chap was Black and a Christian 100%, but he liked the idea of becoming a pandit. He got very passionate about it..."

"Wait a minute, was his name Krishna perhaps?"

"Yes, that's him. He ran a temple in Toronto, bur first came from Guyana, my country. Unfortunately, they found him dead while ironing his clothes. It was a heart attack."

"Yes, I heard that too."

She went on saying, "It was a week later that they found him.".

"Hare Krishna, he was special, so committed." I was a bit choke up to hear about Krishna, who named himself that although born Patric Hope. Kim and I concluded he had most likely been a brahman priest in a past life. He was extraordinary - a self ordained priest who did havans, Kirtans and had a Sunday following. People liked him. Anyways, small world. I boarded the plane. Got some walking in around a lake at Toopeekeegee, admiring iguanas.
