Calgary, Alberta

The night had passed and so did a tornado. That twister I was not aware of as I slept deep. The temperature dropped to a blessing level of 10 degrees and as I stepped out the door for a breath of fresh air, I took in an injection of gratitude. Thank you, Krishna, for this life and this activity of bhakti, which for now took the form of a walk around the block.

Camomile plants peek out of the cracks in the sidewalk where I tread, giving off the most attractive fragrance. Being Sunday, just the very irregular person comes out of the house to take his/her car for an errand, which is fine by me. We all need a chunk of solitude each day.

The world over is immersed in minimal divinity and maximum mundaneness. I always appreciate a family neighbourhood where you have the range of babyhood to agedness. I shouldn't fail to mention that FIFA is on people's minds. Who's going to win the World Cup, Argentina or Spain?

From the neighbourhood of camomile in Red Deer, I left for another Alberta destination – Calgary – and to the late afternoon sangha at the ISKCON Temple. There I reunited with my bus tour friends where they were scheduled to lead kirtan. The community or congregants were excited to see new faces from all over the world. I had asked our Irish cook, Shyamananda, to speak for a few minutes before I presented four of my music videos on the projected screen. It was all a new treat for everyone.

For the finish to the day, I was informed Spain won in the soccer series, but I scored tons by the mere engagement of Krishna devotion.
