COUNTRYSIDE WONDER

We finished our stay in Philadelphia, packed up our two buses, three more people joined us for the tour. Good! We are all set now for the three hour journey to the Gita Nagari farm, near Port Royal. What a change this is from New York City! And what beautiful country scenery it is with the rolling hills. Amish country.

Running the show in Gita Nagari is a marvelous couple, Dhruva and Parijata, from South Africa. When they first came here some years ago they had their first experience of snow. By profession, they were not farmers, but people of the corporate world. They made a go of it with cows, bulls, Krishna deities, buildings, land and a congregation. My last visit to this Farm Yoga community was 11 years ago when I made that momentous walk across the USA. I recall being greeted by the community in the most heart-warming way.

A bull was there with the welcome committee and he was dancing, I kid you not.

From what I can see is the project has wonderfully expanded. There are new barns, buildings and that includes a new community hall. I am sure our guru, Prabhupada, would be so pleased with the expansion. One of my attractions to the place is an historic covered bridge nearby. Also, fifty peacocks inhabit the place in addition to wild bunnies and the occasional garter snake.

The youth are assigned to different tasks and tomorrow they will be planting seedlings. All fun!
