Wherever a devotee of Krishna wanders their will be a spiritual experience. Usually it entails a delivery of wisdom (gyanam), a delivery of sacred sound (kirtan) or the delivery of blessed food (prasadam). And their is nothing that makes you feel better about these three.
There was certainly a great feeling I encountered yesterday when walking along Bloor St. when someone in all excitement ran up to me, held up his phone and asked, “Is this you ?” I identified the pic of myself taken by the man’s friend from Saskatoon, photographer Ali. I was happy for him for sharing with him one of those small world, a moment in Krishna’s time.
When I arrived at Christie Pits, which is on Bloor, I converged with devotees distributing BBT books and who were also letting the sound of sweet kirtan to those relaxing under trees and on the grass.
Now with today a short flight took Mahadev and Annapurna and I to the Maritimes for a visit to Kadambha Priya who pulled out of the freezer some favourites of ours - fiddleheads from the May season. This was prasadam. But now it was necessary to hurry it up and depart for the Hindu Temple and these lead a chant and a talk about the glories of Krishna. After all His birthday is around the corner and it is a privileged and obligation to express desirable words around His greatness and how we all have a connection with Him. I personally get thrilled speaking about His glories. We managed to get a smooth dance out of every-one over the chanting by the dynamic duo, “Mahapurna.”
What a great lifestyle we have !
