TRUE INDOOR HAPPINESS
Sunday, April 19th 2026 Winnipeg, Manitoba Spring in Winnipeg experiences thaw, frost, thaw, frost etc. Like a mantra where combination of words repeat themselves, the weather patterns are on a roll. This cycle makes for creative masterpieces in the puddles which become different levels of ice. People do speak of Winnipeg as a nasty weather place in general with cold winters and hot summers. My response to such complaints or observations is, “The climate may not be mild but t

TO WINNIPEG,WINTERPEG OR WINDYPEG
Saturday, April 18th 2026 Winnipeg, Manitoba The flight to Winnipeg from Toronto was the first one ever, for me, where we encountered no turbulence in the air. There was no sudden jerk or jump from gusts of wind, no currents twisting about. It was a smooth sailing in the air. What also was cool was meeting Mr. and Mrs. Mac Donald. We started talking in the queue at Porter Airlines at the Toronto Airport for check in, then later at the gate for departure, then finally at the W

SEASONAL COURSE
Friday, April 17th 2026 Huntsville/Toronto The sun was lifting the fog in the town, Huntsville. The serious snow falls over this past winter came in great volumes and is now melting. That Muskoka River is overflowing and the docks at the downtown district have disappeared under the fluid flow. That great gift to humankind, water, is moving at high speed and threatening to flood. Nature is naughty and nice. You have to keep a watchful eye. My strolling along the downtown of Hu

GOPAN, HE'S GONE Gopan is someone to remember He had come to the point of surrender Raised in Ottawa, moved to Toronto And fell in prostrations like a domino He saw something in the movement Opportunity for self

WE TRIED P.A.T.H.
Wednesday, April 15th 2026 Downtown Toronto It is definitely spring and where it is winter in Toronto with snow, it is now transformed to the rainy season. Uddhav, Sarthak, and Vishesh and myself were craving to go on a walk-and-chant exercise. Where to go without getting wet? It dawned on one of us “why don’t we hit the world’s largest underground shopping mall?” Apparently the city of Toronto has the largest one with a length of a 30km underground road network. Breadth is a

WHAT I LEARNED NOT TO DO
Tuesday, April 14th 2026 Paris/Toronto It was a long flight, thirteen hours, from Mauritius to Paris though I did a bit of strolling about at the Charles de Gaulle Airport. I sometimes pick up a nice sandwich to address hunger. I went to a food stall (forgot the name) and simply wanted to ask about veg sandwich options, no eggs, meat etc. The young male attendant whom I approached to ask that easy question and saying “bonjour.” All he said was, “just wait two minutes!” He was
