Mayapura/Vishakapatnam

It was sweet to see four young Quebecois lined up at our accommodation building, Gada Bhavan, just to say, “Goodbye!” There was Emile, Frances, Alex, and Prana Gauranga presenting their happy faces; happy because we spent time together.
The farewell was also meant for our troupe destined for a new destination point, Vishakapatnam, in the state of Andra Pradesh. We finally took a photo of our thespian group at the Kolkata Airport. It became a long day of travel by road, air, and included a lot of waiting before finally reaching this nice city in the south by the ocean.

The place is fairly clean for India. We certainly took advantage of the beach and enthused some of the locals to join, although not in the water for them.
There seems to be some fear of water. Youth in India often don’t know how to swim. I guess that’s one reason for the fear. Emphasis often lies on the ability to take to I.T. How often have we seen young men and women from South India excel in computerism?
The welcome at the airport was quite overwhelming. As explained by the temple president, Simbha, “In the south, we rarely see a Swamiji.”
From start to finish – from when we were sent off by a group of French Canadians, and also by a cat, a kitten, and a dead rat, to the enthusiasts of Andra, our day was rather nice despite some draining travel. I still did get some steps in.
