SEEK HOPE

Tuesday, June 16th, 2026

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

It was kind of one of the family men to invite me for lunch at his home, even though some sadness has hit him. “I've been out of my IT employment for months.”

“Is it due to the advances of AI?” I asked and he said “yes.”

Like a lot of his colleagues who have lost jobs under the same circumstances, you have these people in their 40's whose future doesn't necessarily look that great. People see that the writing is on the wall and that a reorientation is obvious.

After lunch a conversation ensued and the answer to such challenges in life is inevitable. There is one obvious solution to what is depressing—“Don't give up having Krishna as your centre!” That is what is remarkable about this family man friend. He is not going to abandon the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He has hope and without hope, there is no scope.

While the topic of hope is the theme, I myself was losing some of it when I went through a second installment of drama practice. The morning session, as usual, is very spriteful, but the afternoon after the group engaged in sports under a blazing sun, it became a little hard for the members to remember lines and the blocking.

I had the pleasure of presenting four of the music videos Nityananda and I produced. Although the subjects were secular (not spiritual) the topics were sattvic, thoughtful and in the mode of goodness. They were appreciated.

I then zipped over to lead in the weekly Gita Zoom call. Finally my walking companion, Gurudas and I took to the cobblestone avenue called “Germantown.” When one walks it conjures up hope.
