Edmonton, Alberta
Today was Day 3 of our Annual General Meeting. At the start of each morning session we have a good look at powerful verses from the Bhagavad Gita which address the qualities of a good leader such as the traits of a kshatriya in 18.43 and a brahmana in 18.42 I will spell them out.
For the kshatriya (protection, leader administrator) 43 tells us of a hero, a. power person, determined, resourceful, courageous, generous commanding. In 42 we hear of a peaceful person, disciplined, austere, pure, tolerant, honest, wise practical and dutiful.
Making the session interactive I asked the room of 70 people if they could give me instances where they thought these qualities could apply in the life of our guru, Prabhupada. The answers that came out were so appropriate.
The day of introspection and having a strong look at true leadership and ended with singing praises to young Krishna. All wrapped with those in attendance wishing each other the most meaningful well wishes and departing for the airport to reach our respective destinations.
When I arrive in Toronto near midnight I waited for my driver, Bhakti Yoga. The news day began flipping the page to the 11th of November, Remembrance Day to meditate on the sacrifices of men and women who sacrificed their lives from the evil forces of the last century in times of war. If you ask me if I have regard for those who fought in battle with bravery and a vision for the future? I most certainly do One hundred percent. How can I not?
