Montreal/St. John
A long drive it was to the province of New Brunswick and to the loyalist city of Saint John. Rain taxed us almost all day, but that did not create a certain boredom because we had each other’s association. Nakula was the driver. Nityananda and I were the passengers. Nakula’s a life coach for men; the topic of socio/political concerns naturally occupied some of our time. Nakula keeps himself busy with issues for men that lie in the category of addictions.
This is the age of Kali Yuga, a very dark time. I’m not sure where the concept of the ‘Age of Aquarius’, a time of positive change, takes place. That brings to mind the musical production, Hair, which I saw live back in 1971, I guess it was. There is a section in the musical where the cast sings “Hare Krishna.” It was my first introduction to this great mantra.
Just prior to reaching Saint John, we stopped over at Fredericton for dinner at Kadambha’s place. In place of omelettes, the family prepared OM-lettes, an eggless savory with besan flour as its base. As usual, the cuisine preparations (offered to Krishna, of course) was a yummy experience in the household.
Also during our trip, we took the opportunity to make another one of those reels for Instagram – a message encouraging self-discipline and the need to stimulate higher consciousness. Such an endeavour is always great for self-care and humanity-care in general.
If one becomes spiritually strong, then it is possible to help others.
