Rosedale, Toronto
Karuna and I took a spin over to the home of Neil Cox’s workshop to sneak a peek at his progression of the Krishna and Radha maple wood sculptures. Krishna is now complete. He looks great. He has a masculine appearance, unlike most portrayals of Him. His face exudes a warm look.
Radha has yet to be completed, but She is coming along. They both stand about eight feet tall. As mentioned, they are made of maple, and interestingly enough, the tree from which they are shaped comes from a tree located where I come from near Ridgetown in Southern Ontario. All in all, Neil is doing a great job and he is enjoying the project. Just think about it, he is molding out of crude wood the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
These statues (murtis) will be installed and unveiled in the summer at our Muskoka project in the small city of Huntsville and cottage country. There will be a temple, a restaurant, and living facilities. It is a unique model. I can’t reveal Krishna yet until the unveiling.
I want to thank Lapjpat Prasher and Bhima for the sponsorship of the sculpture pieces in particular. Hip! Hip! Hari!
My evening program did not entail a drive, but a walk through a portion of Rosedale where spring explodes as colourful blossoms. My companion, Uday from India, is now settled in Canada, and he is picking up on the miracle and magic of the season as we walk through it.
