LAST DAY BEFORE NEW YORK

Thursday, July 30th, 2026

Vancouver, British Columbia

I arranged for meeting Riley, tall and in his 30's. He had recently taken to Krishna Consciousness. He agreed to accompany me on my morning regular walk by the Chinese farms. We could get to know each other more. Krishna Kala also came to join in.

Riley spoke about his Roman Catholic background and, for a time, served as an altar boy. He seemed to be okay with that past in his younger years. Now he's exploring Krishna. And as I expressed before with my own experience, I made room in my life with Krishna and not rejecting Jesus. I could have both. Perhaps Riley is thinking along the same lines.

Both chaps, K.K. and Riley, both tall (they dwarfed me), then attended the rest of the temple morning program which includes darshan, a viewing of the first deity, then kirtan, chanting, then a Bhagavatam discussion. I hope it wasn't too much for him. He appeared so enthusiastic the other day at the Chariot Fest. I pray Krishna will continue to bestow all kinds of blessings on him.

The walk was great! My heron friend came to meet us. It apparently loves the association and continuously flies to me, even though I've never given a morsel for food at any time.

The balance of the day was interesting. Jaya Govinda and I made the monks' visit to a family. We had allotted time for lunch, a lunch I could not hold down. It was something about incompatibility with the food. Anyways it was a scene, quite messy. It invoked another one of those vertigo dynamics. Oh well, we are all quite fragile. The family that fed me also nursed me. I was worried - have to catch the midnight flight for New York to attend the 60th Anniversary Gala Event.
