WRAP UP TIME

Monday, April 6th 2026

Durban, South Africa

I have been staying in the Chatsworth Iskcon temple in the quarters where a murti of our guru, Prabhupada, is installed. It is the same accommodation where a chain of great monks have stayed during contemporary times, Bhakti Tirtha Swami, Bhakti Caru Swami and Kadamba Kanana Swami, who passed away within this millenia, all spent time here. They all left a glorious past.

Now I am expending a mere week in these quarters, one level below the glorious deities of Krishna, Sri Sri Radha Radhanath. I hope I can carve out a significant something-or-other following in the footsteps of my predecessors.

At least I can say I have a reputation for working with a younger generation in the realm of kirtan chanting and the drama presentations. Like my dear godbrother, BB Govinda Swami, who is also attending the Durban festival this year, he is successfully engaging youth in the mantras and music on the main stage. On that same platform I am keeping busy a group of young actors in the pastimes of the devotees. Shiva is one who is very revered as a kind and caring soul and as an avatar.

It was the last evening of our drama “Shiva and Sati”. The crowd loved it.

Job well done crew! I made it clear I was leaving in the morning for Mauritius. To wrap up our time together we indulged in some veggie burgers and went around the table hearing from each of the participants a few words of realizations on the drama project and how it impacted each one individually.
