HAPPY GROWTH

Monday, October 27th, 2025

North York, Ontario

There are signs that indicate we are growing.  What I mean by that is we, as a society and culture, are expanding, at least in Canada and the southern-most part of the country, also in sections of the USA, India, Eastern Europe, and I’m sure there are other locations.  This is glorious.

Nityananda drove me to North York to meet some businessmen from our community to make an offer for a larger building in the eastern section of Toronto-Scarborough.  What we have currently for weekend functions is a rental space with only 1200 square feet to work in.  The footage is so small it cannot accommodate a Sunday School, plus, there is only one toilet for the whole congregation.  On Sundays there are easily 80 to 100 crammed in the facility for worship.  So, discussions went on, and we shall see how things will terminate.  The point is we are bursting at the seams and there is a dire need to change from a fifteen year stay in what seems like a closet.  Funds are needed to address this growth.

Let’s cross our fingers and chant our mantras, Hare Krishna.  I’m optimistic, especially when seeing those fall colours.

There are a few other signs to indicate we were experiencing a type of growing pain.  One of them is a complaint about some mistreatment to a family.  Those complaints were expressed to me at a park bench at Ramsden Park.  I saw it as a result of quick development and not taking sufficient time to train up some of our young members or volunteers in certain areas of management.  After I talked with the father and daughter all of us felt better.

Challenges will always be there in growth or stagnancy.
