Vancouver, British Columbia / Toronto, Ontario
My poem aboard Porter Airlines, flight 308
FROM ABOVE
Defying my beloved footwork
Above mountains I go
I view low smoke from the park
From wildfires aglow
Then comes the quiltcraft
Patches of agro-culture
To the right, to the left
A gorgeous picture
Then cotton ball clouds
Interrupting the scene
Become an angel hair shroud
With the sun now lean
A pastel sky pervades
Before Black Beauty Veil
Takes hold of such space
It's an aerial art gallery
I applaud the artist
And thank the pilot
And the attendants too
